kən-tĭn’yū-ā’shən…

The word above is “continuation”, just look it up on google… 🙄

Yes it time to finish this grim tale… and yes I’m VERY late at doing so.

Sorry to everyone that visits.

Now where did I leave off… right, going to take the ferry across.

The trip back to the Hammer was all as planned, 2 day trip, stay in Blind River, next day drive to South Baymouth to hop on ferry, and then Highway 6 to home… but it was less then stellar. On the way to Blind River things were fine, little warm because of the lack of AC, and I kept hearing this strange sound from the woods (more on this later)… but it wasn’t that bad.
The room I rented defiantly lacked the 5 Star rating, little small but clean, it was good enough for me. For some reason I slept like crap, and was up way to early in the morning which means I started the drive early. The fact I was driving early wasn’t a problem, the problem comes from you reach your destination to early… I made it to Baymouth 2.5 hours earlier then I wanted to, I was thinking I could take a nap for a bit, but then I realized I had a large coffee, and one of those energy drink things on the way down, so there was no chance to catch some shut eye.
The wait wasn’t that bad, I was able to grab a bite to eat and went for a nice little hike, and I really should have taken more pictures while I was there but I guess the feeling wasn’t moving me since there as the lack of sleep and the 3 hours of driving. As far as I can tell the town of Baymouth is a cute little tourist town that has a huge push when ever the ferry is in operation.
In a way it was good I was there first, I was able to see the ferry docking right in front of me, and let me tell you… this is a very BIG boat. There are some signs posted around the area discussing the boat and it size, but…. it’s big. Loading was interesting, you see a bunch of people in blue shirts directing traffic to there area on the boat, big vehicles on the bottom, motor homes down the center, and small to mid size up these ramps. I had to go up the ramp, and I was first (w00t fun), now saying the ramps are narrow is one thing, but I know there was less then 6″ on each side, and I had to go all the way to the end which left my bumper hanging over a 10′ drop… interesting.
Nobody is allowed to stay below deck while the boat is moving so everyone has to the upper decks; this boat had tons of room for sitting inside and out… I spent most my time outside, the wind in my face felt good. After the boat was well on its way I decided to walk around a bit to get the lay of the land, so glad I did, talk about sea legs, I was walking like a drunk man and it was fun as hell, so I was walking circles around the boat for the next hour and a half.
When docking time came everyone went back to there vehicles, and then this horrible sound starting filling the lower compartment. I heard that sound before… I watched a lot of Star Trek and that sound is never good… it was just the door getting ready to open.
😉
The boat unloaded efficiently as it loaded and I was on my way again… this stretch of the trip has left me scarred for life. Highway 6 was built and is managed by some evil being that loves tormenting drivers… EVERY 5-10KM IS SOME LITTLE CRAP TOWN… I’m pretty sure there nice places but it sucks ass for driving, you are consistently going from 90 to 50 then back to 90, cruise control is of no use… and that strange sound from the woods is back (told you I’d get back to it), but now I know it’s not coming from the woods, it’s coming from the car, and it’s far worse then before (picture loud screaming and yelling). It’s the brakes… well the rear passenger side to be exact and I still had 3 hours to go before I got home, needless to say “happy” was not the word I would use to explain the last leg of the trip. Oh I forgot to mention it was hot as a fat man’s ass in sauna… so stinking hot outside and me with no AC, and if anybody knows me, they know I despise hot humid weather.

So in sight of all the trouble at the end the trip was still worth it, but it’s never going to happen again…

PS – getting to long and tired of typing…. I’ll up date sooner then later now that this is out of the way.
